RBR Staff Writer Published 06 February 2012

The Container Store, a Texas-based retailer of storage and organization products, is opening six new locations in 2012, which will bring the company's store count to 59 by end of this year.

The new stores are expected to generate more than 400 jobs with additional job growth planned across other areas of the retailer's business.

The new outlets will be located in Arlington, Texas; Las Vegas, El Segundo, California; Peabody, Massachusetts; and Westbury, New York, with a sixth location still being finalized.

For each new shop, The Container Store will partner with a local nonprofit that will receive 10% of its grand opening weekend sales.

The Arlington store, which spans 23,056ft², will open on 3 March in Arlington Highlands at the Northeast Corner of Matlock and Interstate 20. The shop will be the company's seventh location in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The Container Store has partnered with the Junior League of Arlington for the opening.

The Las Vegas store, the first in Nevada, will open on 12 May 2012 and occupy 22,000ft² in the Las Vegas Town Square. The Container Store has partnered with the Junior League of Las Vegas for the grand opening.

The El Segundo shop, which spans 22,000ft², will open on 16 June in Plaza El Segundo. The store will be the retailer's fourth Los Angeles-area location. The retailer has partnered with Sandpipers for the grand opening.

The Peabody outlet will open in Fall 2012 and occupy 24,000ft² alongside the Northshore Mall. The store will mark the retailer's third location in the greater Boston area.

The Westbury shop, which spans 24,000ft², will open in Fall 2012 in the Gallery at Westbury Plaza. The store will be the firm's fourth location in New York state.
